Williams Baptist University is a private, Christian university in Walnut Ridge. Founded in 1941, WBU offers more than 25 baccalaureate majors covering a wide array of academic disciplines, as well as two master's degrees in education. Williams is a Christ-centered university that has long been known for its academic excellence, personal attention to students and warm, caring environment. Its innovative Williams Works program allows students to work their way to an outstanding education, and even affords them an opportunity to graduate debt-free.

WBU has a typical fall enrollment of more than 500 students, with about 3/4 of them living on the Williams campus.
